Our heart & brief background: As a military family we have lived in 6 states and 1 foreign country. Collectively, Jeremy and Kelly have lived in 17 states, 2 countries and 1 U.S. territory. We are so grateful to have a place to call home and a community to serve and serve with.
Love Where You Live- Greater Columbia is an obedient response to several years of spirit nudging and direction from God. This program is modeled, with permission and support, after Love Where You Live-Schertz (Texas), a program we served with during our 2-year assignment in the San Antonio area. Though our Calvary Chapel Northeast family is where we are first planting this program, we hope to see it grow through the collaborative efforts of churches, organizations, and individuals within the greater Columbia area.
Our Mission & Approach
Demonstrating Love Through Action
Our mission is to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ in our community by connecting volunteers from local churches and organizations to assist with home maintenance, repairs, and community beautification. We believe in loving not just in words or speech, but with actions and in truth.
Our Approach:
Locally Focused: We utilize a "neighbors helping neighbors" approach specifically for the Northeast Columbia region.
Personally Driven: We focus on direct service to the people and spaces that need it most.
Collaboratively Minded: We aim to grow through the shared efforts of various local churches and community-minded organizations.
Our Process
We make it simple to give help or receive it.
1. Identify the Need
We become a resource for local governments, non-profits, and residents to flag when a neighbor needs a helping hand.
2. Mobilize Volunteers
We coordinate individuals and groups who want to serve their community with joy and gratitude.
3. Complete the Project
Whether it is a semi-annual cleanup event or an individual home repair, we show up to do the work.
